Growing in God is often a constant state of discomfort. While God offers us comfort in His arms, if we’re trying to spread the Good News as He asks us to, He is likely pushing you to new things. He’s placing people or things in your path that may cause discomfort or embarrassment.
Don’t let that overwhelm you, but inspire you. Fair warning, be prepared to stumble and don’t be too hard on yourself when you do. We need to work to be ready for the opportunities that God puts in front of us, but still be prepared to stumble.
Even Peter disowned Jesus during his time of need – three times no less and Jesus even told him in advance that he would. You’d think the fact that Jesus told him in advance might have prepared him mentally, but it didn’t. And think of all that Peter had accomplished to that point and went on to accomplish. If he was susceptible, we are susceptible.
At times, things will get tough. They will get uncomfortable. Just know that if God is pushing you, you are heading in the right direction. Pray for courage as Moses did that He will provide the words you’ll need at the time that you need them.
