We have a habit of concentrating on our most recent worst decision – a time that we’ve failed to live according to our principles. Focusing on your last worst decision is throwing the focus off the path that is leading you closer to God and away from the progress you’ve made to this point.
It’s important to know that the road to God is paved with stumbling blocks. When you trip on one of these stumbling blocks, we are generally faced with a choice to use it as an excuse to continue making bad decisions or as an opportunity to refocus ourselves. Don’t let it define your next day or week or month. Regardless of this most recent shortcoming, if you’re seeking God, the trend must be a positive one.
Simply ask God for forgiveness; dust yourself off and move forward. Focus on the trend, not your last worst decision.
