Matthew 28:16-20 – Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Thanks to these chosen eleven men, we are still talking about Jesus today. Repeat – eleven men believing and making disciples of all nations has led to approximately 2.3 billion Christians today – not including all those that have come before us.
What I wanted to draw your attention to though, was the fact that the disciples doubted. They doubted despite having seen the scars of His hands. Yet we tend to beat ourselves up for doubting from time to time.
One other thing worth considering though, is that despite their doubts, they took action. They went out into the world and did as they were told. And that has led us to where we are today – 2.3 billion strong and growing.
Don’t let your doubts keep you from taking action. Doubts can be healthy. They can encourage us to seek God, and that is always a healthy activity. God is not scared of your doubts. He is real and He welcomes your questions.
