I was born in America in a home where I had a loving Mom and Dad and the very best big brother and sister anyone could hope for. Later to be blessed with 3 impressive younger brothers. Today I’m married to a wonderful woman and have 3 healthy children. How often do we stop and just say “thank you God.”
I could have been born in Afghanistan, a 3rd world country in constant tribal and global war. Hard to access healthcare or even clean water. I could have had an abusive father or a litany of other challenges some people face. Let me say, however, there is an extensive list additionally of things I’ve overcome. But did I personally overcome anything? Did I choose my father or my home country? No. God is responsible for more than we ever acknowledge.
So no matter where you are or what you’re facing, I can assure you there are many things you are currently blessed with. Even if you can only be thankful for the freedom to view this blog. Then you’d probably already know to be thankful for the love of Jesus, which is all we need anyway. So stop, say a thankful prayer….maybe even without asking for anything else.
